SILVER project vision
SILVER is an Erasmus+ project designed to collect the existing good practices for an inclusive workplace for older adults, and for promoting a career in the third age or facilitating the transition to retirement. This concept aims to raise awareness among older workers about the possibility of an active retirement and to enrich the practices of managers or HR specialists to include seniors longer in the work field.

Managers, HR, and other interested professionals through increasing awareness, strategies, and learning tools in a structured way to contribute to career extension or preparation of retirement. This activity desires to enhance their readiness to support older workers for an active retirement or to facilitate the transition to retirement by preparing the seniors for this period. |
Older workers themselves to become aware of the challenges of ageing and empowered for active ageing within the workplace, either to keep working for longer or to support a smooth transition to retirement. |
Objectives
1. Make the organizations (public, private, non-profit) aware about their practices and initiatives towards an age-friendly workplace
2. Identify promising practices and methodologies regarding active aging at workplace from seniors and HR departments
3. Promote self-awareness on older workers about their sense of preparation and acceptance for retirement
4. Design an active learning programme created for organisations and their HR staff for a more inclusive age-friendly workplace
5. Develop and promote a toolbox through which organisations from different sectors will increase/implement age-friendly practices

SILVER introduces major innovation features in the scope of ageing in the workplace:
Creation of an exchange framework about active ageing in the workplace, to be used in all kind of organisations from different sectors (public, private, non-profit) which will provide a collection of inspiring practices, real-life stories from employees, the perspective of employers and recommendations at EU level.

An intervention model dedicated to older workers aiming at providing psychoeducational support to the third age: either prolonging their time at work or a smooth transition to retirement. This model will cover a full implementation cycle and a process map to guide participants;

A self-assessment tool, delivered online, targeting older workers’ level of acceptance and preparation for retirement & organisations level of implementation of active ageing in the workplace, mainly triggering age-friendly policies & strategies. These will serve also as an awareness activity about these issues and partners seek to put it available for all people interested.

A training course to combine all the discoveries of the previous steps, but also be the first step for some organisations to introduce models for older workers;

A package of tools to effectively empower organisations to build their capacity not only to acknowledge what they need and have to do, but indeed guiding them to take action.
